We talk to you about it last month, the season 1 of Dragon and Weed: Origins will be back this year.
The West Dragon Productions took the momentous decision to start from scratch the first season of Origins.
It won’t be a simple graphical update, but a totally complete reboot with all episodes rewrite.
Of course the storyline will stay the same, episodes will include novel scenes and some of them will be completely new.
The story will rely on the initial season’s plan, the one counting about 50 episodes, not the 29 of the aborted original.
Big improvement, episodes will be entirely animated.
The production team hesitated between visual novel and video for the main broadcast format.
Finally video was chosen, visual novel’s distribution and business model are too complicated to set up for a series with a big number of episodes.
Presently 9 episodes are in progress, including a novel pilot one. They won’t be dubbed, at least initially.
The series will be available in streaming exclusively on YouTube and Newgrounds. A non-animated version will be distributed to several partners that will be revealed later.
